What happens when you give a guy a house, a family, and an internet with which to share these things? Apparently nothing, but I'll try to post all about it here.

It's Finally All Done! (Sort of)
counter space now that the microwave is above the stove.
Unfortunately, the microwave apparently fell off a truck (literally,
not in a stolen kind of way), because it's all dented on the sides and
the door hangs too low. So this won't be officially done until the
replacement comes in a few weeks.

More Counters!
The other counter wasn't ready yesterday, but now it's in. We're going to get some stools so we can sit around that lip there. But where's Milo going to eat his can food?
Oh, there.
All the stuff's back in the cupboards too, and everything's much easier to get at now. We just have to figure out what to do with the spices.
Almost there...

Knobs!!!
Of course, once I stop the knob prediction, they come.
We were originally going to stick with the white knobs we already had, but we couldn't find good white drawer pulls, so we got new knobs. And I'm glad we did, because the silver really goes well with the new faucet!
No more washing dishes in the bathroom!!!!!
Now the garbage disposal leaks though, so we may need to get a new one of those too ;(

Counter! Sink!
The counter is LG Hi-macs Sea Oat Quartz.
I've given up trying to predict when the knobs will come.

Now Our Stuff Won't Fall Out!
All the cabinet doors are up. The electrician put in boxes for the new
outlets. They also sanded the walls and retextured the ceiling above
the sink.

All Cabinets, All Moulding
All the cabinets are mounted.
All the upper moulding is done.
We used to have a valence that covered the light fixture above the sink, but they didn't have enough wood to make a new one, so we'll probably just put in a smaller, more attractive light there. Maybe some type of flush mount.
No knobs today, but now that the moulding's done, maybe tomorrow the cabinets will get doors and knobs.

More Cabinets!
They added the big unit on the back wall. Now the only cabinet left to go up is the one above the fridge. They also added that fake wall piece above the cabinet there on the left.
We also got to see what it'll look like with the stove there. They had to put it in place to make the counter template.
Tomorrow....maybe the fridge cabinet? Probably the door knobs and pulls. And more top molding.Friday, May 14, 2010
And There It Is!
As promised, there's that lower cabinet. It has to wait for its doors
though.
Now the dishwasher has a home too. And they patched up that hole where the vent thing used to be.
Tomorrow, I'm betting they finish up the cabinets. The upper ones over the fridge, and some 12 inch floor to ceiling cabinets on that back wall.Thursday, May 13, 2010
One Step Closer To a Sink
It's getting annoying not having a kitchen sink so this picture is good news. That's where our sink will go - after it gets here on Monday. Then the counters will be able to go in!
Some nice big drawers on the lower cabinet, and around the corner in the living room...
More cabinets! There's still a lower cabinet that needs to go where those stepladders are.

Why Is Susan So Lazy?
Not much different on the right, the wall and ceiling look a bit neater.
But look at all those cabinets over here! What's Milo sitting on?
It's a huge lazy-susan! I assume it's named that because Susan was too lazy to reach all the way to the back of the cabinets. And I'd have to agree, that's way to much work, when I can just spin what I want toward me!

Baby Steps
there, did some stuff to make the floor stop squeaking, and began the
rerouting of the vents.
